Grandparents Day
In 1978 President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation to observe the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day. This came about due to urging from senior citizen advocate Marian McQuade to set aside a day to honor grandparents and other seniors by recognizing the vital role they play in our society. This year Grandparents Day falls on September, 11th 2022.
Special ways to celebrate this holiday with your grandparents include cooking a meal together, working on a family genealogy tree or even just watching a movie together.
